I Choose to Look at Life Through Spiritual Eyes
Blog #024
The world is in flux, change is fast and continuous, with uncertainty being the only certain factor.
How do you react to the situations that are outside of your control? What is you focus and how do you cope?
For some change is exciting and stimulating, while for others there is only fear and dread. What about you?
For many the circumstances we face today are overwhelming. So much is out of their control.
Some choose to go with the flow and work from the perspective of … Whatever will be will be—Kismet.
But … I choose to look at life through spiritual eyes.

Reality not Fairy-fluff
Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking airy-fairy, pie in the sky stuff when I write or speak about spirituality. I'm talking about where the rubber hits the road stuff.
I'm talking about reality, looking life in the eye, taking the good with the bad and making the best of the all situations.
I have always known that I am a child of God, an adopted son, but the reality of that fact has only recently taken on a reality that I hadn't been aware of for many years.
What does it mean to be a child of God?
What authority does that give me… to live an amazing different and victorious life?
Does knowing that fact allow me to change my perspective and look at life differently?
I worship a God;
of broken dreams—Psalm 34:18.
who wastes nothing— 1 Corinthians 15:58).
who moulds my disappointments into something beautiful—Romans 9:21.
The story hasn't finished yet, in fact it's barely begun.

When I pray
I've found that writing gives me freedom. I can say things that you will never know. It will be between God and me and that's liberating.
Writing and praying provides me with a brilliant opportunity to put my thoughts and prayers down on hard drive. I've discovered several advantages.
Be intentional
I must be intentional. Over time I've developed a template which I use to guide my processes. It also means that I can come back later and see what has happened.
Reflection
Looking back in reflection is a great way to measure growth.
I never want to;
stop learning or growing … even up 'til my last breath.
I need to grow. Even then it will be a step into something bigger and more challenging.
There are no plans to retire and vegetate!
Existence is not for me … life is for living, right up to the time when I take my last breath.
We have many things in common
I'm an average sort bloke. I also know that I am unique, but the situations I face every day are not.
You and I have many things in common, the difference being that you see them differently to me.
That means that I can learn from your experiences.
We can learn from each other
That's what I want. I want to hear your story. I want to know what worked for you. I want to know what didn't—You can teach me how to avoid the mistakes you made. (Proverbs 27:17)

Do you want to join me?
There is so much more I could say, but that's enough for this week. This week's piece has been a ramble through the recesses of my mind.
I've barely scratched the surface. I'll need to come back tomorrow and continue. Meantime I will continue on this journey of Self Awareness, asking my heavenly Father for clarity as I delve deeper into the question of What can I offer others?
Over to You
Do you have a worldview?
