About
Child Safety Information
Our safeguarding culture is built on Gospel values, legal obligations, and a deep
commitment to justice and care. As such, we strive to create an environment where every
person — child, young person, or vulnerable adult — feels safe, valued, respected and
supported.

As part of our compliance with the 11 Child Safe Standards introduced by the Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP), we:
-
Embed a Safeguarding Policy that reflects our values and responsibilities.

-
ï‚· Promote inclusive practices that respect the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, children from diverse backgrounds, and children with disabilities.

-
ï‚· Uphold a Code of Conduct that sets clear expectations for appropriate behaviour with children.

-
ï‚· Conduct rigorous screening, supervision, and training of all staff and volunteers, including mandatory Working with Children Checks.

-
Empower children and young people to have a voice, participate in decisions, and speak up if they feel unsafe.

-
ï‚· Implement risk management strategies to identify and reduce potential harm.

-
Provide clear and accessible reporting procedures for concerns or incidents of abuse or neglect.

-
ï‚· Actively involve families and the broader community in creating a safe and welcoming environment.

-
ï‚· Address risks in online environments and ensure digital safety.

-
ï‚· Regularly review and improve our safeguarding practices to meet evolving standards and community expectations.

-
ï‚· Promote inclusive practices that respect the dignity, autonomy, and rights of every individual, regardless of their age, ability, or background.

-
The Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) is Victoria’s independent authority dedicated to promoting the safety, wellbeing, and rights of children and young people. With a strong focus on advocacy, oversight, and reform, the Commission works to ensure that every child in Victoria is protected, heard, and empowered. It administers two key regulatory frameworks: the Child Safe Standards, which require organisations to create environments that prevent abuse and promote safety; and the Reportable Conduct Scheme, which ensures allegations of child abuse and misconduct by workers or volunteers are properly investigated and addressed.
